St Kilda Ave, Upwey

The design for this bathroom renovation in Upwey, borrows inspiration from the Hamptons design style of the residence.  The layout of the existing space worked however the colours and finishes were dated resulting in a stark and lifeless interior.  The design solution was to create interest through juxtaposition of light and dark colour, Plain and patterned tiles and modern and classic design elements.

The Design Process

The patterned floor tile became the hero element of this design, with everything else simply tying back to it. The beautiful Hamptons vanity sourced via Ascot Bathroomware, is crowned by a large arch mirror tying back to the pattern of the floor tile. The round above counter basins and the organically shaped pillar taps completed the look but not without a few hidden surprises embedded in the design.

The toilet roll holder and ceramic robe hooks – two quirky little finds by the client, makes the design come alive. These paired with styling choices, the space makes you really look at the details.
