The Design Process
Design Highlights: Sophistication Meets Functionality
The foundation of this kitchen renovation is a Caesarstone Calacutta Nuvo stone benchtop, which brings a touch of luxury to the space. With its elegant veining and crisp white background, this benchtop creates a sense of airiness, while the curved edges add a soft, organic feel to the design. Complementing the benchtop is a stone splashback in the same Calacutta Nuvo finish, offering a seamless transition from countertop to wall for a clean, cohesive look.
But it’s not just about looks—this benchtop is as practical as it is beautiful. Built-in draining grooves add functionality without disrupting the smooth surface. These subtle details are what make this kitchen both stylish and sensible.
Smart Design Choices: Maximising Storage and Efficiency
In this renovation, every inch of space has been carefully considered. Integrated pull-out bins have been placed near the dishwasher, ensuring easy access for sorting waste and recycling. This simple yet effective solution reduces clutter and keeps the space organised.
When it comes to storage, the kitchen is designed with efficiency in mind. On either side of the cooktop, you’ll find Hafele pull-out pantry accessories, which make it easy to access dry goods, spices, and other kitchen essentials. For corners, where space can often go underutilised, the Hafele Lemans Corner pull-out offers a clever way to maximise otherwise wasted space.
A spacious pantry is another key feature of this kitchen. With a combination of adjustable shelves and drawers, it’s easy to store everything from bulk items to smaller kitchen gadgets, ensuring that the space remains tidy and functional.
The overall design of the kitchen is kept minimalist with handle-less cabinetry throughout, maintaining the clean lines and sleek surfaces that define the modern aesthetic.
For a pop of texture and warmth, the hidden coffee station is a standout feature of the kitchen. Behind bi-fold doors, the station is finished in Polytec Prime Oak, with integrated strip lighting that adds an elegant touch. This area is cleverly designed to hide heater ducting behind a Polytec batten oak fixed panel, ensuring that everything remains tidy and well-organised while offering a chic, practical coffee corner for busy mornings.
The Polytec Steccawood Half Round Profile on the island bench’s back panel adds another layer of warmth and sophistication. This subtle detail brings in natural tones, complementing the sleek stone surfaces and creating visual balance within the space. A hidden push-to-open storage cabinet behind the profile also adds a clever, discreet place to store kitchen essentials.
Finishing Touches: Style and Function in Every Detail
No modern kitchen is complete without the right lighting and hardware. The Momo Brave 1120mm matte white handles are a perfect example of the design ethos at play here—functional but stylish. Their soft, subtle curve references other curves in the space, adding a harmonious touch that ties the design together without overwhelming the minimalistic aesthetic.
Over the island, Pompeii vintage nickel pendants from Beacon Lighting bring a touch of elegance. The round shape of the pendants complements the curves found elsewhere in the design, while the vintage nickel finish adds a sophisticated, yet slightly industrial vibe, creating contrast against the otherwise clean and modern palette.
This kitchen renovation is a prime example of how thoughtful design choices can completely transform a space. From the luxurious Caesarstone benchtop and innovative storage solutions to the sleek, minimalist cabinetry and stylish lighting, every detail was carefully selected to create a space that is not only stunning but also highly functional. Whether you’re planning your own kitchen renovation or simply looking for inspiration, this project demonstrates that with the right balance of aesthetics and practicality, you can create a kitchen that is as beautiful as it is efficient.
